Confirmation

Open to youth who have been involved in the parish Faith Formation and have completed at least 70 hours of High School Faith Formation. Youth who want to celebrate their commitment to life in the Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation may apply for preparation from their sophomore to senior year of High School.

Readiness for the Sacrament is determined by the candidate, his or her parent (s), the Confirmation team and the pastor. Outward signs of readiness include a knowledge of the teachings and traditions of the Church, a willingness to share their gifts with the faith community and a passion to serve as Christ's hands and feet in the world.

Preparation begins 6-8 months prior to Confirmation and is in addition to the scheduled Youth Faith Formation sessions. Preparation includes:

• 2 Candidate/parent/sponsor sessions
• Candidate study classes
• Bible study with sponsor
• Retreat and ongoing service

Youth explore how they are called to use the gifts that the Spirit has given them to build the Kingdom and commit to the Church's work and mission as they enter full membership.
