Eucharistic Ministers assist in the distribution of Holy Communion during the Mass and at other church services. They may also bring Communion to the homebound, hospitals and nursing homes. Eucharistic Ministers assist in preparing the hosts and wine prior to the Mass and cleansing the vessels after Mass. A one-day diocesan training session must be completed before participation in this ministry. The program is held at various times and locations throughout the diocese.
Eucharistic Ministers are scheduled at the Masses according to their preference on a rotating basis. The schedules are flexible and completed in 2 month time blocks. This ministry does require a commitment to serve when scheduled or to arrange for a replacement from the Eucharistic Minister’s roster. Come share in the celebration of Christ’s presence by participating in this important liturgical ministry!
