K-8 Faith Formation

 

We are in an awkward moment in terms of Faith Formation plans here at St. George. Adult and High School faith formation offerings have persevered throughout the pandemic in adjusted fashions, but we were unable to hold Grades K-8 sessions at all last year. As we look ahead to September, our situation with respect to these younger students remains uncertain.

Pandemic considerations aside, our reality is that we have too few grades K-8 students to create grade level classes of sufficient number for a successful learning environment. If we consider this in addition to the Road to Renewal initiative to form a family of parishes with shared and consolidated ministries, it appears the best option for families with children in those grades is to seek faith formation classes in one of our neighboring parishes.

Periodic Faith Fests for all ages integrate scripture, prayer, music, fun activities and Catholic doctrine into every Fest. Faith Fests will encourage old and young to reflect on their experiences of God, share their faith, connect their faith with the life of the Church and live faithfully in their daily lives.
